Say It With Your Chest
I personally feel that the way I talk outside of a work environment is ok whether I pronounce the words correctly or not because everybody understands exactly what I say. I do feel that television, music, and the people that I'm around all the time haven't influenced me to talk the way I talk it sort of encouraged me. When I talk and use slang words it's almost like I'm learning a new language and I wanted to learn it. Even my mom and dad use slang words sometimes and they don't even know it. I wouldn't change the way I talk unless I'm in a work environment and I must speak professionally, although when we get comfortable with each other we also tend to make our own language within that work area. My cousin and I even have our own language. We mimic what we seen in certain cartoon shows and put our own words in them. Most people don't know what we talk about, but that's because it's our language and you won't decode it unless we give you the details. Again I will change nothing in the way I talk unless I'm in a work and professional environment where what I say can make me or break me.

I can definitely relate to what you are saying on a personal scale. The way we talk always depends on the environment that we are in. also when people are comfortable with each other, they tend to speak more casual, but that can easily be switched of in the work setting.
